Are there any genuinely normal, well-adjusted celebrities

It seems like she and FPJ and a very solid, stable couple. They don't let their kids on social media and both have (I think) retired from acting.

I agree there are a solid couple and I think relatively normal now. But word on the street is that since they got together so young before kids they had a very open marriage and she liked to be with other women. He could also do what he wanted. It was sort of a don’t ask don’t tell policy. I mean, it makes sense. They both had ample opportunity and got together really young.

I don’t think that is the case anymore now they’ve settled down and had kids. But I think celebrities just leads such crazy ridiculous lives that it’s hard for us to relate.

Are you from rural CT or Brooklyn?

Didn't Braff date Florence Pugh? She's half his age. Also he's almost 50 and is unmarried and no kids. That's not a crime, but becoming a permanent bachelor and then dating young ingenue actresses after directing them in short films does not scream "genuinely normal, well-adjusted."

But he did go to Northwestern.

Katie Couric - mostly agree
Jen Garner - eh, divorced from functional alcoholic, does a lot of planted pap pics and desperate social media posting to stay relevant, I say no
Sandy Bullock - extremely spotty dating and marriage history with some scandal/nastiness thrown in, plus a messy and very public divorce, otherwise seems like a cool person
Dave Grohl - agree
Henry Winkler - agree
Matt Damon - normal-ish life but have met him and he's arrogant, entitled, oblivious to how he comes off, and just generally your classic self-absorbed Hollywood actor. Has made good decision in his private life, yes.
Chris Evans - agree
Seth Meyers - agree
Adam Sandler - agree, though like all comedians/comedic actors like this (many SNL alums in this category) actually probably not very "normal" to deal with IRL, as they are always/often looking for a joke or doing a bit, he has a very normal family which is great but I bet it takes a special sort of person to marry and stay married to someone with this personality
Conan O'Brien - agree but see Adam Sandler
Mick Jagger - no idea
Ron Howard - agree
Laura Linney - don't know enough
Barbra Streisand (despite her Ozempic comment) - no way, Babs is a classic insular Hollywood type, very limited self-awareness, cannot interact with normal people. Love her but no, she lives on a totally different planet.
Cynthia Nixon - yes normal-ish, she reminds me of a lot of women I know in NY with her attitude, home life, politics, etc.
Lisa Kudrow - yes, and would add Julia Louis Dreyfus who is quite similar to LK in terms of her approach to her career and her personal life, very grounded people.

He seems like the classic nerd who got famous and can finally attract women, but not abnormal per se

+1 I knew him in college.

He sometimes teaches acting workshops and is VERY kind to his students and generous with his time, and remembers them years later.

Also, nothing about Lady Gaga is normal, but she seems incredibly kind. From how she's treated that boy she invited on stage to dance with her, to how she was so gentle with Liza Manelli, to the sweet pep talk she gave One Direction when they got booed at an awards show, and on and on.

Oh, yes! I know people who know him and have heard good things.

I mean then where is the line. Drug problems, personality disorders, divorce, bad relationship choices, just being a jerk generally.... these are all "normal" behaviors in that people experience them at any socioeconomic level, famous or not. But none of them are "well-adjusted" behaviors.

I would say that someone with a spotty relationship history who dates people half their age (especially if there's a power imbalance, as there is with a director who dates an actor) is not well-adjusted. Their problems might be relatable and not limited to famous people, but they aren't well-adjusted.

In some ways, the more "normal" a celebrity is, the less well-adjusted they'll be. Because a normal person is really unprepared for the stress and weirdness of celebrity. I am a pretty normal person and I fully assume I'd crack if I was under that kind of scrutiny. And I think cracking would be the most normal possible reaction to that experience.

So the celebs who are truly "well-adjusted" are probably by definition not "normal." They have special skills or ability that enable them to deal with fame without going nuts. That's why Maya Rudolph was such a good example. As she said, she grew up in a family of entertainers and around famous people, so fame and Hollywood didn't freak her out or corrupt her -- it was her "normal." She was able to stay well-adjusted because she didn't have to adjust from being a nobody to being famous.

Matt Damon's mom is a well known childhood development expert.

Margot Robbie comes off as well adjusted. She has a normie husband like Emma stone. Paid off her mom’s mortgage. But what do we really know of any celebrities lives?

Someone like Jlo does not strike me as well adjusted. Seems addicted to her fame and relevance, can’t hold down a relationship, very attention and validation seeking etc.
