Sigh, they have feet and feet of snow on the ground in Hamtramck..

Let us all take a moment to think of those poor paczki that will go uneaten this year due to the polar vortex dumping snow on the ground and the "feels like" temp of 7F and social distancing limiting the number of people in New Palace...oh wait! People are still lining up outside! Nothing keeps a detroiter from their paczki.

People in Michigan are really bad at wearing masks, I gather.

There are no really good Polish Markets here. The previous owners of the market in Vienna had better sources. The Kolachki are crumbly tasteless rolls and only an almond pasty filling. No walnuts. Grocery stores sell equal quality. Whenthe Polish church has a fair buy up and freeze. I will try Woodmior. Even going to Baltimore you need to taste first. I go to Poland every summer and bring a suitcase full of bread and pastries back to Virginia. Too many substitutes and artificial ingredients are in many in D.C area. Bet the Embassy chef has pastries to savor.
