Anyone else have trouble getting your DC to try soups? Any good recipes?

My son loves miso soup. You can buy the packets at Whole foods, and slice some soft tofu into it. Something about the texture of the soft tofu and the salty broth, perhaps. We would pour the soup into tiny bowls, which may have also helped not to make the soup so intimidating.

My 2 year old wil eat almost any soup if I add in a large spoonful of grated parmesan and some croutons.

I make this in my dutch oven on the stove.

Dice a bundle of celery
chop an onion (very fine)
a palmful of celery seed (ground if you have it or celery salt)
salt/pepper
add this mixture to a pot with a few tbsns of olive oil
saute until onion is clear

add in 4 chicken breasts
1/2 mild buffalo sauce
2 cups chicken stock
cover and let cook for an hour

cook chicken breast until you can shred it down with a fork (in the dutch oven this is an hour)

in another pan I melt a few pats of butter with flour
once melted add in 2 cups of milk, whisk out lumps
add in shredded cheese of your choice (I have made with everything from velveeta to sharp cheddar)
add cheese until it tastes good to you
add cheese mixture to chicken mixture

My son will eat this with pretzels, chips, crackers as a dip. I try to watch the salt and I have added other veggies that he doesn't notice.

The adults eat it with sprinkles of blue cheese on top and more hot buffalo sauce.

The goldfish idea is genius. We'll be trying that tomorrow!
