Are there any MD families on VLC. How hard is it to make practices during the week?

I’d love an answer to this question as well.

There are and I've heard it can take awhile depending on when practice is. I would definitely try to car pool and get the EZ pass flex (3+ in car) so you can go free around the beltway.

Yes, there are MD kids that play on VLC. Practices are held at George Mason University fields in Fairfax, VA. Typically start later in the evening 6:30/7 - I think the earliest I ever saw on weekday was 5:30. Weekend practice times vary morning/afternoon.

Any openings for a pole on VLC 2021, or is the team roster all set?

Who knows? This always seems to be movement on teams. You probably know this but try-outs are in a few weeks.

There are always openings. If you're son shows well at tryouts, I'm sure he'd get a spot...

I am told that there is a record number of kids trying out in August. BW, Madlax and now DCE flicking to the only decent club in town that is not a money grab or run by asshats.

I agree with the above comment. While the poles are considered to be the strongest position group on VLC 2021, it's unclear whether every pole is returning. Won't know until August, I suppose.

Are there any offensive players not expected to return for 2021? Would my kid hav a better chance playing mid or attack at tryouts?

Haha. I hear this every year coming from the VLC camp. Also, without fail, someone will post how many madlax helmets were at the tryouts.

My player's belief is that if they can play both well, they should offer to play both at the tryouts - always. He does. Coaches like versatility if it's legit.

Their website says, "This will be the largest and most competitive tryout in club history." Do they say that every year?

We've been a VLC family for 3 years. Not sure if they've said that every year, but the tryout attendance has definitely increased every years we've tried out. The youth program has been expanding.
