Palantir - "need based salary"

I think this is very interesting. Any other info on what the perks are?

Here's an article from last year: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/01/business/unlocking-secrets-if-not-its-own-value.html

" The company caps salaries at $137,000 a year and bonuses at $15,000; it allows internal stock sales, but only up $300,000 a year. Given the current Valley gold rush, where mundane work can make people millionaires before 30, a place where engineers settle for a “mere” total of $450,000 seems extraordinary."

That doesn't seem meaningless to me at all, that is a very low cap IMO. Has it gone up substantially since then?

Basically everything you need on-site or subsidized: dry cleaning, pet sitting, meals, gym. You know, so you never have to go home.... Ever!

Sucks if you have a family, but many folks in the age bracket Palantir is recruiting don't have families.

If you're actually going through the hiring process just talk to HR or current employees about those things instead of trusting a news report. If you're ever worked with a company that gets reported on a lot in the news you've probably shaken your head how silly some of the reports about it are. Lots of people there have families and are over 30. Just talk to HR, actually visit the office for dinner if you are interviewing, or check out what employees write on Quora.

The salary cap is a red herring because of what you make up for in options, there is no cap on bonuses, and there are liquidity events every year so you can decide how much cash to take home. Unless you're a VIP developer or BD person palantir isn't going to hand you a truckload of cash up front , but the total comp remains very good.
