How to get dog out of my bed

I love my dog too but I can't have her in my bed. She will wake me up many times at night. I need sleep to get through the day so I put a dog bed in the hall and close my door. They get used to a new routine and sleep will make you a better, healthier person.

It does not not matter how big your bed is or how big your dog is, if you allow your dog to sleep on the bed with you he/she will slowly encroach on your space until they dominate it. You're allowing them to sleep on the same level as you--to a dog, this is a submissive act. I used to do this and I never got a decent night of sleep. Finally I had to go out and buy one of those cocoon beds that are like a pod on floor that she could burrow into. I put one of my nightgowns I had worn in there and I am firm that she is no longer allowed on the bed under any circumstances. It was lonely at first, but then we both saw the utility of it and have slept peacefully since.

I thought it was a pack instinct to sleep with your pack. But it is submissive to eat last since the pack leader eats first.
