Bikini Area Laser Hair Removal (Yes or No)

I did it quite a while ago, and loved it. The results depend upon the laser. The laser that really gives lasting results (cant' remember which it is) is very painful, but still worth it. The "pain free" lasers require lots more treatments, and the results are pretty crappy.

One thing to think of though is, if you get pregnant after having it done, the hormones cause the hair to grow back. Not all the way, but still.

I was hair free down there for 8 years, but when I got pregnant, some grew back. it's still pretty sparse, but I have to shave. After I'm done having kids, I plan on going back and getting more treatments.

I did not know before getting it that pregnancy causes the hair to re-grow.

Don't do the pain-free laser. They don't work. I first did it on my bikini area with a laser for which I needed to apply numbing cream for half an hour before the session. The results were great. A few years later I did my stomach area with a pain free laser and it did nothing to remove the hair.

I was cursed with very hairy legs/bikini area. Think stubble visible from 20' away the day after shaving. I had four treatments about 12 years ago, and ever since I can go weeks without shaving. I have probably 30 hairs on my legs now even after all that time and without touchups. Granted, I'm pale with dark hair, so I was the perfect candidate. It literally changed my life--I could never spontaneously go swimming as a teenager.

You think a hairy bikini area will eventually be in style?

Personally, I'd be very wary of pointing a laser that close to my private parts and ovaries, but that's just me.

What looks good when you're in your 20s and 30s may not look so good when you're in your 60s and 70s.

Most old ladies are pretty bald there naturally.

So are all pre-pubescent teens. That's why it feels creepy to me.

+1. I'm having some regrowth now but I'll go back when I'm done with this pregnancy. Still totally worth it to me.

Having a bush has been totally acceptable for most of all time, and I would wager it still is for most who don't earn their living in sex work. It's only been in the last 10-15 years that women began to feel that, in addition to having a clean bikini line, they needed to resemble the pre-pubertal. So probably.

I did it at Chevy chase plastic surgery. Cindy is the best. I have black hair and dark olive skin so I did a total of 11 treatments, but I haven't shaved in 2 years. It's the best.

Dear goodness does anyone actually shave there? Scary and stubbly. Only wax.

You old, don't trip on your walker on the way out

Glad my husband and I grew up in the 70's so the natural look is just fine - he couldn't care less that I'm not waxed bare. And back in my single/dating days I never had to worry about painful waxing or using a laser down there. Younger people go through grooming hell these days. I just trim down there and then shave my bikini area (though i'm also not wearing skimpy bathing suits anymore).
