Jeff may have blood in his hands if there is another zoo shooting next year

My guess that the same until he started deleting my perfectly fine comments and others starting complaining their posts were being deleted too. You should just be aware that Jeff seems to have a nontransparent agenda at play here.

If you actually have information about a crime, you should be writing a witness statement to law enforcement, not posting on DCUM.

Hmm there appear to be several first hand accounts of what happened. Something tells me yours was laced with racism or something that wasn't true.

What??? This is fairly easy. Don't go to the zoo on "family day". That has been a good rule of thumb for the last however many years this event has existed. You don't need a forum moderator to know what is and isn't a good idea.

I described what I saw. And others did the same. There was zero race discussion until someone played the race card to justify the shooter. So, nope, I wasn't being racist. Jeff was.

Everyone is free to go read the thread about the shooting and see what happened. Several posters were making uninformed posts about events inside the zoo. These posters had also indicated, either in those messages or previous messages, that they had not been in the zoo. Other posters who said they were in the zoo, posted conflicting statements. As it happens, I have sources of news other than DCUM and the second group of messages were consistent with my other sources. Therefore, I asked that posters not engage in uninformed speculation. The OP of this thread responded that she had been 500 (feet or yards, I don't remember) from the gate and asked if that qualified her to comment. I said, "yes", she could comment on what she saw, but she could only comment on what happened inside the zoo if she had been inside the zoo. It turns out that she was outside the zoo and freaked out at my response.

The OP of this thread then posted a series of posts attacking me, much like her post here. I did not remove messages describing events that were posted by people that appear to be witnesses to those events. As a review of the thread will show, those posts still exist.

I read the same thread and that is NOT a true statement!

I doubt any witness or resident would disagree with OP. Didn't you read the post from the poor guy working the coffee shop across the street? If this event is allowed next year, he'd preferer the loss of income and close, rather than risk getting hurt, or worse.

Seriously OP - if you get your news from DCUM, I'm worried about you.

I think the point is that the post from the person who worked at Starbucks has not been deleted, because they appear to be directly reporting what they were an eyewitness to.

Nice try, Mr. Steele. We all know that not only are you deleting posts on this topic willy-nilly, you are, in fact, actually the shooter yourself. It's probably somehow part of your scheme for DCPS rezoning. Your every-six-year pattern of zoo bloodshed will come to an end, someday; at least, so one must hope.

+1. Jeff was so obsessed yesterday with who is in the zoo vs who is out that he deleted completely fine posts by people out of the zoo...and the "funny" thing is that the shooting took place right outside of the zoo! This was an example of arbitrary decisions by an often benevolent dictator.

I don't agree with the OP but I will say that the moderator has allowed quite a bit of race baiting, as it pertains to Black people, to continue on this site. When the Kansas Shooting at Jewish Community Center and Retirement Center thread turned into a war between Palestinian and Jewish supporters the thread was locked after three pages; and mostly because Jeff got into it with a poster. There was a comment in the political forum about Muriel Bowser's sexuality and Jeff threatened to shut it down.

I don't think there is any kind of agenda, but just count the number of unlocked threads that have turned into an anonymous assault on Black people. The assumption is that they start because some uninformed white person asks an innocent question. The threads instantly turn into Black vs. white and they continue ad nauseam until someone starts a S/O thread about a related, subtly racist, topic.

Don't worry Jeff... I'm not interested in debating this point and I will take your advice and stop commenting and visiting DCUM as there is something pretty awful about Black people every. single. day.

Correct. Posts that depict what people ACTUALLY experienced are not being deleted. Posts from people who were there but not ACTUALLY at the scene where it occurred and are reporting on what actually occurred are being deleted. Seems like Jeff has various sources and knows what happened at the scene, so lets posts that are true stay. Posts that are speculating because they were in the general area are being deleted. Not that complicated really and probably what a moderator should do. I'd much prefer to read first hand accounts that are actually first hand accounts.

I'm sorry you can't understand that OP and that you have an over inflated idea of your importance because you were in the area (and reporting the events incorrectly) but this post is such an overreaction it is actually laughable. Does anyone take you seriously IRL?

Bullshit. Describe one "completely fine post" that I deleted. Plenty of posters could use a class in remedial reading comprehension as well. I went back to read my message to see if I had mistyped because there seemed to be such confusion. It seemed fine to me. Basically, don't write about things that you don't know about. Misinformation doesn't help anyone.
