Not truly post-apocalyptic, but has that feel to it:

This may be too out there for you, but I loved the Eternal Vigilence series by Gabriel Faust. It's a distopian/apocalyptic/cyberpunk/vampire story.

The Road is also excellent, if dark and depressing.

+1 Also Frank Herbert's White Plague and also On the Beach

Isn't Divergent a post-apocalyptic series?

It's on my to read list. There is a huge wait at the library.

If you don't mind supernatural, the Vampire Apocalypse series is really good.

I'm currently listening to the first in the Razorland trilogy - Enclave - and it's really good. I didn't even realize when I got it that it was considered YA. I'm in my 30's and am really liking it.

I'm also giving another thumbs up for Hugh Howey's Wool series - amazing!

The complete Wool 1 - 5 is on sale right now on Audible for $1.99!

Not OP. Would this be okay to listen to in the car with my 10-year old, not easily creeped out, child?
