Lena Dunham is ridiculous

Did you ever see her boyfriend? The guitarist from Fun? That guy has done it all - even dated Scarlett Johannson for a while.

The green bikini for the entire episode drove me up a wall, but it would have seriously annoyed me to see anyone wearing nothing but a bikini for an entire day. Including while riding a bike into town. What??! That said, I think Hannah is hilarious in her own completely self-centered way.

She's also pissed at Jezebel for releasing her pre-photoshop Vogue pics:

Kind of silly for Jezebel to offer $10,000 for unretouched pics.

Kind of silly for Dunham or Vogue not to keep the photographer from distributing the original pics as part of the contract.

Yes. Because I'm not shallow enough to turn it off because she looked ridiculous. The writing is quite good. I am making the observation that trying so hard to prove a point detracts from the show itself.

If you've watched Tiny Furniture you'll see what I mean. The chick has intelligence and talent. She just needs to get off the soapbox.

I am a realist when it comes to such things. I feel that people should wear clothing that flatters them. That includes skinny girls. Some people have small breasts, oversized breasts, big butts, small butts, etc. There are plenty clothing styles out there and it's pretty easy to find a flattering fit.

If the whole beach house scene was not made for tv, would she have worn a bikini the whole time? Would she have made such a point to all her friends who already accepted her? It's just way too much even when Elijah saw her on the street and the whole predictable "fat girl" exchanges. She has gone beyond being provocative to just be ingratiating.

I'm OP. This is perfect! Thank you.

This proves my point. You can't care about unretouched photos (normal) and do what she did in that episode due to 'total confidence'. She did it to make some sort of point, which is fine if it's one or two scenes. The whole time went beyond.

And I do get what she's saying re: the Vogue thing. I accidentally hit reverse on my camera phone and am now making an appt. for botox and filler

I watched Season 1 of Girls but just cannot get into Season 2. I just don't think the show is that entertaining and I really don't find anything compelling about Dunham. And I certainly wouldn't want to see her in a bikini.

I was half expecting for Shosh to say, during her tirade, something to the extent of -- "why can't you put on some fucking clothes?" Now that would have been funny and more realistic.

I don't understand why people have such strong feelings about her (negative or positive). I saw one episode of Girls when it started and didn't like it and never watched it again. I am stunned she is so polarizing. She is the hipster Gwenyth Paltrow.

I think the "reveal" of her unretouched photos and her predictable reaction seem very staged.

ME TOO! That was the first time I've ever seen Shoshanna display any real feeling about anything. I can't stand the way she talks.

I don't blame her. I can't stand Jezebel's approach to these issues.
