I think i'd like to start a small business that only does one thing..black coffee. do it well, fast, and cheap(er) but where i save money is by speciliazation...only black coffee, and that savings i pass on to the consumer to undercut starbucks by a lot.

Sorry, there's a business that already does that and has a reputation for doing it really well: McDonald's. They make a great black coffee, a true trucker's coffee. Not the McCafe stuff, just their regular coffee.

WTF? That is NOT good coffee.
It may be a true trucker's coffee, but it ain't "the good stuff".
FWIW, I don't think Starbucks is either -- over-roasted, can't taste the beans nuances. And their blonde roast doesn't do it for me.

Caribou's lighter roast is pretty good. The best is getting from a roasting house (like Lexington Coffee, or Counter Culture).

Maybe, but I don't patronize businesses owned by Arab states if I can avoid it. Even with gas I look for Citgo so I can avoid Arab oil.

The other day, I learned that the peppermint mocha is served all year round - it's just not advertised.

WHY HAS NO ONE TOLD ME ALL THESE YEARS?

Yes, I know it's dessert and not really coffee, but I still enjoy it once in a while as a treat.

It used to be seasonal, but now it's a regular flavor available anytime. I had one the other day, what a treat!

why do people feel the need fo qualify every non-plant or non-protein item they ingest as a "treat?"

What? "Treat" doesn't imply "non-plant" or "non-protein." A 'treat' is something that I, for whatever reason, indulge in once in a while, and isn't part of my daily or even weekly consumption. It can be a peppermint mocha, or big bowl of edamame (oh, the gas it gives me), or a big juicy burger.

Say what?

Coffee is a plant product. You know, coffee BEANS? Like little oval things that look like a long ass crack?

BTW, a "treat" is a 500cal drink. It is a treat because if I were to have it every day, my ass would be as large as Kim Kardashians.

you can get a shot of peppermint in anything. it's very refreshing in a frappucino in the summer.

As the original eggnog latte poster, I can report back that I have now sampled this year's version and it is unchanged, and still delicious.
