Infertility Support and Discussion
|
The government Aetna plan pays for IVF at 50%. The state of Maryland Aetna plan pays at 100%. They are two entirely different Aetna plans. There isn't an infertility mandate in the district like there is in Maryland and the federal government voluntarily elected to give employees 50% coverage when they negotiated their plan with Aetna.
It isn't as simple as asking for the state of Maryland Aetna version. One would have to go work for the state of Maryland in order to get their benefits (which happen to be amazing as far as infertility is concerned---6 IVF cycles covered at 100%!). |
| I have Aetna (federal gov't) and although it pays 50% like MD IPA the meds and much, much, more expensive with Aetna. Their 50% co-pay is just about equal to full price. I went with Aetna this year but will go with MD IPA next after hearing about their cheaper co-pays on meds |
