I don't know how much of a connection there is other than Amy Denicore states she is home schooling their three children and presumably uses the charity's mission as a teaching point. Plus linking to other parents and their children. I will hazard a guess that they would accept all comers, not just home schooling families.

Amy lives by the philosophy instilled in her by her mother, “It never hurts to ask.” Years of painless asking has shown that most people want to help others, but sometimes just need to be asked. The generous support everyone has provided Changing Latitudes is proof positive of this philosophy.

As a home-school mother of three, Amy supports the efforts of Changing Latitudes state-side, but looks forward to hands-on work, once the kids are old enough to participate. In the meantime, Amy enjoys her children’s creative efforts to raise funds for school scholarships for Haitian children.

If you are looking for ways your children can participate locally to raise awareness about the needs of children throughout the world, please contact us. It’s never too late early to plant the seed in a child for a life-long commitment to community service. As Nelson Mandela said, “It only takes one person to decide to create a ripple that will lead to a lasting change in the lives of others.”

Oh? Amy Denicore is neglecting her domestic duty to take care of her husband, children, and household because she's too busy saving the souls of heathens in far-off lands? How about that.

When I was searching for charities who were involved with Haiti. I remembered that they had talked about it and plugged "Denicore" into my search parameter.

This people are a piece of work. Best wishes for the kids. They're going to need it.

Thanks for posting, OP. I was wondering what happened to them. I couldn't believe the hubris of those people! I wish those kids the best.

They do sound kind of awful. But the schools can be very scold-y when they feel like it. When they get the info wrong they can be very extremely rude (don't think that is what is happening here, but it may have inspired them)

I use their story weekly as I try to get my kids out the door in the morning. Still don't know how I feel about myself for using my imprisonment as a threat but I have to say it's been very effective.

Well she has certainly neglected her kids (habitual tardiness). Not sure about her husband.

They appear to have circumnavigated her inability to get herself and her kids up, dressed, fed & out the door in time to catch the school bus by home schooling them. I guess rather than draw attention to the adults not having the kids set everything out the night before they decided just to let them all sleep in. Particularly Amy. In one of the articles it's noted that Mark leaves for work at 5 am. I guess that's a lot more fun than helping with the kids before he goes.
