Poll: Anyone paying to read Washingtonpost online?

Sunday subscribers, get it for free.

Same here.

I have the iPhone app. It was $1.99 one time. I read as much WaPo as I want. We're also Sunday subscribers. DH loves breakfast cereal and the coupons pay for the subscription. We don't eat much other packaged food, but sometime there are coupons for drugstore products.

I'm willing to support Wash Post. There are so many free but trashy news websites out there. Journalists can't work for free.

I think if you subscribe to home delivery you can end up getting it for less than if you pay for online only. We pay $12.72 for 8 weeks of 7-day-a-week delivery.

How much for just Sunday delivery?

Is the quality and content better now that they are behind a wall? I'd consider it if that happened.

They claim Fed Govt employees can read for free if they log on from work, but so far it hasn't worked. I won't pay. I don't really like their website. I used to - before they redid it. Now I'd rather go to CNN.

I get why they need people to pay, but they have to increase their quality to get me to be willing.

I love the food section, magazine, basically all the non-news stuff. I may pay just for that.

There is a replica feature where you can read the paper as it was published. It's pretty cool. I used it when traveling so I would miss anything on the metro section, style and the comics. I've been a subscriber for 11 years, used to be a journalist and happy that our local paper is the Post.

I pay for the NYT online access since I have no time to read two full newspapers every day, so I pick and choose stories to read on their website.

No, so not worth shelling out money for that drivel they produce. The Post has really gone downhill in the last few years. I pay for the New York Times because it is a quality paper.

+1 we do the same. And get Sunday NYT delivery, which gets us online access for that, too. But if I had to choose just one, it would be the NYT all the way.

Also, if you are a government employee access is free, at least at the office. I know this is true for feds, not sure if it is local government as well.

This doesn't surprise me considering how much federally subsidized student funding they get through Kaplan. They should give back to the federal government! In fact, they shouldn't be charging at all, without Kaplan they would have already tanked and now they want to hit the taxpayers again.

+1 - that is the only paper I would pay for.

+3- It's all that I pay for.
