Watched Renovation Raiders last night for the first time and whoa, what a lot of useless drama and you could tell the husband totally knew what was going on. |
Feast your eyes people. This is the show that needs to come to the US.

Unfortunately HGTV is still better than most of the other crap on TV |
I miss Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. The home stuff they did was fun b/c it seemed like they usually took the person into account. |
That was a fun show. Thom Filicia should have his own program. Love it or List it is the WORST. Bleagh. So full of fake-o drama. And I have a friend of a friend (no, really!) who was on that program, who said that they shoot the family saying "we love it!" and also "we'll list it!" and the producers choose how it'll end, regardless of what the family actually does. |
oh, well THAT'S annoying. |
I miss Designing for the Sexes. THink that was on like 15 yrs ago. Also some designing show that Chris Harrison (yes! Of Bachelor fame) hosted. Families had a budget (their own money) hired actual designers to do proposals, picked one, did the work.
Also Kenneth Brown. Great Designer. Bang for the Buck was a good show. NOt sure what happened to that, either. HATEHATE HATE Genevive Gorder. Man, she's in love with herself. Urgh. THat is all. Carry on. |
Bang for the buck was a good show. Not sure what happened to that. Sarah's house is also good, but no new seasons? |
I loved Real Estate Intervention with that guy Mike Something. It was a local show too where he showed sellers comps in the area and then made them realize how absurdly unrealistic they are. |
Yes, the best shows:
Real Estate Intervention Property Virgins My First Sale Designed to Sell All shows that were built around concepts that were helpful to actual homeowners rather than just mindless TV. These shows showed ideas that viewers could actually apply, whether it was low cost renovations, tips for first time home buyers, for first time home sellers, and how to sell in a tough real estate market. |
Designing for the Sexes with Michael Payne. Great show! He was once at the Dulles Expo Center during one of those home design shows. He was very funny and nice in person. |
Sarah Richardson--- more of her, please! And her cute sidekick, Tommy!
Debbie Travis was great. Remember her? Kenneth Brown-- also good, although his show wasn't around for long. I do love Candice Olson, but I do get weary of her dusty blue/chocolate brown/sparkly lights & mirrors basement makeovers! I do really love her electrician, Chico, though. He is a doll. Yes, HGTV is becoming more and more low-rent--- no pun intended. I would love a better home show channel. There is an opportunity for an enterprising producer there! |
And that overnight renovation show--- what the if you see kay? Yucko. They act so badly fakey, like a combination of Glee and those guys on the Georgetown Cupcake show. |
Mike Aubrey. One of the best real estate gurus on TV. |
Bang for the buck is still on but has been reformatted and is now hosted by Vern Yip and a local RE agent. All 3 families.watch the critiques together and the winner gets a bagful of cash. |
