Can anyone help me find shoes like this (brown heels/wedges with thick straps)?

Interesting blog. It's like...I want to like her outfits, but I can't. Something is just off and I can't put my finger in it.

OP - I bought a pair that sound exactly what you are looking for from Nine West (I know, I know) last summer. Pretty thick brown strappy 3 1/2 inch wedges. You'll find them were you least expect too.

Nordstrom BP had some you should also check out.

Eh. Gotta give her credit for getting so much attention and a book deal as a 20 something living in Bloomington, IN. She's not high fashion but lots of women all over the country could relate to her. It may also have something to do with the fact that she is way younger than us and has no children. Don't know about you. . .I'm just lucky if my outfit matches these days. And bonus points if it is all actually clean.

I had them in the 70's too, although I was in high school. I thought I was super cool with the platform shoes with cork soles AND woven bands. I wore them with the gauzy tiered skirts or peasanty skirts. Really a hideous look when I see the pictures now.

I'm 33 and TTC. I don't feel *too* out of the loop just yet. Maybe it's not sitting with me because she's bold w/ colors and patterns and I prefer a more minimal look

I'm the OP. I really like her blog for ideas - she wears very bold things in very bold ways and is about 10 years younger than me. But she has some great ideas about how to combine things, particularly adding accessories or color to update classic items I already have (button down, pencil skirt, jean jacket, etc). She also includes some cheaper stuff - Target and Old Navy frequently - and then adds shoes or accessories to make it look much nicer.
