What does it cost to join Army Navy Country Club in Arlington?

We belong there too and find it to be very down to earth. Not pretentious. For non-military, initiation was around 58k when we joined a couple of years ago. Military and positions in national security get a much better price.

What price do military and national security gov employees get? Is there somthing like a pool & social membership? It is a nice club though on the occasions I've been there it seems to be an older crowd... curious if a pool option would be worth it for us with young kids in Arlington.

Why don't you call the club and ask the membership director to send you a packet? They can explain everything and answer your questions. You should also ask your friends who are members, since you'll have to know at least one member who can sponsor you.

Don't they have a tennis and pool membership? They did a few years ago it was around $6000. We were asked to join

THey have a social membership (which is tennis, the pool and the fitness center, I think). Not sure of the price because we joined for the golf.

Interesting thread. Does anyone know..

1) How much per month is it after joining, and

2) Is the membership transferable? So if we were only here in the area for 3 years, could we sell it to someone or do we lose the money?
TIA!

You really should contact the club if you're interested. They are very nice and will give you the information.

can anyone comment on their family activities, such as for Halloween or meeting Santa? also, given that it sounds like an older crowd, are there many young children, perhaps even grandchildren of members? TIA.

Family activities are great! There are lots of kids. Some are members' kids and some are grandkids. They have kid sized tennis courts and swim team, junior golf, etc. it's very family friendly!

I actually contacted the club this summer because i Was interested. The cost was wayyyy more than we could afford so we didn't join:

Civilian initiation fee: $68,000
Capital Infusion: $60/mo
Monthly total for ages 35 and under: $230/mo + cap infusion = $290
Monthly total for ages 35 and up: $460/mo + cap infusion = $520

You can fill out a form online and they will get back to you pretty quickly with all the information. The above was what we would have been paying as just a general civilian... yeah, no way we could afford that!

Bumping this - anyone know monthly totals for retired commissioned military officers?

I would love to get married here but they don't have reciprocity with other golf courses. Any ideas on how to meet members who might be willing to sponsor us? This is my dream venue!

Hang out at the caddy shack and try to find an old general who is deaf and a a little demented. Hand him the form to sign, pay your deposit, and your reception is set.

We are civilian members and paid 55k initiation.
At 68k, they are close enough to belle haven that I would just join there.
We have found that it sucks to be at such a huge club full of really grumpy old retired military. They hate kids and are always reporting minor infractions.
If they are going to charge as much as belle haven, no reason to join ANCC.

I recently looked into it. The current initiation fee is $74,700 for enlisted and non-commissioned officers (which i assume is same as the civilian initiation fee). The fee for O1 is $1,200, and then up to O10 at $24,300.

For $74,700, i'll just build my own pool and tennis court thank you. I'll even have money left over to get matching smoking jackets for myself and my dog.
