we must hail our father government for all things stressful vs giving thanks to God and family? Are you equating the government as the same relationship?
>>> Um, no, psycho. No one is hailing anything. The government is not your mommy. We are all in this together. A rising tide lifts all boats. Many hands make light work. Fill in cliche here. You get the drift. None of us - Not ONE. Not you, not me - would be enjoying the life we have today without the efforts of our fellow man - those who came before us. The people who fought the Brits. The people who died in the civil war. The people who drove the Indians off the land where you now have your mcmansion. The people who built the roads and insisted on a 40 hour work week. The guys who widened the Beltway for us last year. We achieve great things as a society and as individuals because we all contribute. We all strengthen one another. I'm sure even you, Panty, are a productive member of society. I'm sure you do something worthwhile..... right???? |
yes great leader we shall all be as one under socialist change! |
Can you cite one policy introduced by Obama that is socialist? |
In the Romney version, he's marching down both paths at the same time. |
Jeff, don't you know that being smelly is socialist? One of Marx's primary targets was (ol)factory laborers! |
I think Jeff's point is the guy crying socialism doesn't mean the definition of the word.
But you know, there are a lot of Obama haters who are definitely not the sharpest tools in the shed. |
True, but Marx opposed abuse of (ol)factory laborers. So, those whose political platform consists primarily of being against abusive smells must be Marxist. |
LOL - brilliant, pp! |
And so the Republicans outsource them far, far away. Now I get it. Couldn't I hang one of those Christmas tree things around your neck instead, PP? We would like to have those jobs. |
I love the way conservatives love to throw around the "socialist" label, when the only place where it really sticks in our country is with the t00-big-to-fair corporate sector. Does anyone else find it outrageous that the Mets' stadium is still known as "Citi Field" when Citi received all the TARP money from US taxpayers?! Why weren't they forced to give up their naming rights? Perhaps it should be known as "TARP Field." Or at least the federal government should succeed to Citi's naming rights. "Affordable Care Act Field" anyone?! |
We have plutocracy, not socialism or even capitalism
I miss the era of real royalty and kings These poloticians are revolting |
Many other ppl should be credited for the athelets and entrpreneurs success but the difference is dedication, risK, sacrifice, and hard work by the athelete and entrepreneur. Everyone has teachers, bridges and roads but not everyine becomes extraordinary...that is all on the individual and not because they have all the "infrasctrucure" in place |
So what you're saying is that it's the individual's personal efforts that are the main thing, and the infrastructure is the necessary backup. In other words, “The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together." That quote is, of course, Obama's summary of what he was saying in his "You didn't build that" speech. |
