That's awesome. I actually have a few friends who were unable to run during the 1st tri because of miscarriage concerns but were actually able to gradually resume during 2nd tri w/ their doctors' blessings. My biggest problem with running during pregnancy is that I ended up with an extremely alert baby who would only nap if she was in motion-- and would wake up the second the motion stopped. Not sure if they're related.

If you're used to running, there's nothing wrong with running as long as you can. My doctor approved it - I was slightly AMA (35/36 during pregnancy) but no other issues for exercise.
the only downside was that as the baby grew, she crowded out my bladder and I had to pee A LOT. In the seventh month, I had to revise my route to go past the bathroom at the Monument 3 times per run, and in the eighth month, I only ran on the treadmill so I could pee every mile. I stopped running early in month 9, picked it up again a month post-partum and had no issues. Good luck to you, OP! |
