Does anyone else think that Kate Middleton's wedding dress was a little dull?

I thought it was lovely. Diana's dress is horrible and definitely looks dated now.

13:21 here. That's a good way of putting it. I just did not like that veil.

Loved it! way better than those awful-overdone dresses on SYTTD.

I think I know what you're saying OP. I believe Kate would look lovely and ravishing in anything...including a burlap bag. But, I thought the dress was one anyone might where; whereas, I thought Diana's was one of a kind. Again, I think Kate is gorgeous, but the dress reminded me of Julie Andrews in Sound of Music. I was expecting a form fitting body with some outer layering on top of a form fitting dress, and I would have liked to have seen her wear a gorgeous necklace with that neckline.

I thought it was a classic. Timeless and not over done.

Yes! Perfect comparison. Kate could be pretty if she wore something softer looking but she has a harsh look and the dress looks very stodgy and uptight on her. Her sister Pippa looked gorgeous. She looks a lot like Kate and the softer lines of her dress worked really well for her.

BTW, Kate is not a Princess. Not yet anyway.

She is Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. She doesn't become Princess of Wales until Charles becomes King.

Yes, her sister did look gorgeous and the style of the dress is what we expect from Kate. However, can you picture something more like that with long sleeves?

I think it was a perfect and classic choice that will not age with time.

You really think that the photo above is flattering?

It certainly didn't stand the test of time.

Kate chose an understated and flattering dress.

I thought the dress was absolutely gorgeous but she really needed a much longer veil and train for the setting.

I am so glad to see a wedding gown with sleeves. I hope they make a comeback. All these strapless low cut wedding gowns are hugely unflattering.

It's cuz she's so damn skinny! A couple of extra pounds would have really done her a world of good.

I thought she looked lovely, fresh and happy. And you could actually see her. She wasn't surrounded by huge swaths of cloth like Diana. I think the dress will stand the test of time because it is a more classic style. Grace Kelly's wedding dress doesn't look particularly dated even today.

I loved the dress-I search for a picture when I logged on to my computer this morning. FWIW's I hated Di's dress.

I thought it was very pretty but I was expecting something with a little more of a modern flair. Then, after reading the posts here about how Diana's dress looks so dated, I understand why Kate went in the direction she did.
