IKR. Look, incomes here are insane. Every time I think about my income, I shock myself. It's high. Never in my life did I believe I'd become a millionaire and have an income of 1/2 M yr. (after bonus but not including income from assets) Never.But here I am.

What's the controversy?

My measly 150k is only 87th percentile for Maryland. 100k is 70th percentile, meaning 30% of Marylanders make more than 100k....

Impossible! Everyone here is in their 40s but constantly gets mistaken for being in their 20s.

Why wouldn't they use total compensation? At the Sr. Director/VP level and up nearly 1/3 to 1/2 of compensation is variable income (bonuses, stock), but it is income nonetheless.


Np, my total compensation is 223k, but my salary is 167k. I guess I missed the memo, but are most people responding with the total comp number when they state their salary?
