That's fine. Good for her.

And correcting myself that it might not have been the New York Times that wrote that. I read two or three articles from Google news the New York Times being one of them. Clarifying to try and be accurate.

I watched the C-SPAN and she answered the questions asked but no further. I think that is absolutely right and correct. Anti-Semitism is 100% real, but you only need to listen to the committee chair grandstanding to understand this was not a good-faith attempt to understand how large school districts are balancing their duty of care to different groups.

It was a hit job on districts in "deep blue" constituencies and Silvestre answering only the questions posed to her hit the balance between "being responsive" and "getting defensive."

That's fine. Good for her.

And by lying about a workgroup. Good for her. Lie to congress like you lie to the council.

What else did you expect from the MCPS BOE? It's ingrained in the culture.

If MCPS caused a just and lasting world peace to break out tomorrow, some posters on DCUM would find something to complain about.

I watched the hearing a little. I definitely noticed that. She took a few seconds after each question was asked then would respond. Very smart. They were mostly focused on the NYC school chancellor than Silvestre. Also there were no big name politicians, who want media attention, in the hearing which definitely helped Silvestre.

Just say you support lying. Don’t pretend you have any other motivation.

Seriously! The pandering and mental gymnastics by MCPS loyalists is so annoying.

Yeah, although Stefanik was clearly there to get media to cover her arguing with the NYC chancellor. Part of her audition to be Trump's VP.

To my knowledge there is no evidence that the board has lied about anything just some kooks on DCUM that make allegations without evidence.

Good thing we are not limited to doing things based solely on your knowledge.

One kook in particular.

She’s good at talking the right talk to Congress, but she was complicit the county school system’s and police’s abuse of a kindergartener in 2020. Along with all her fellow board members at that time, she failed miserably in that very basic test of character. She is a perpetuator of the rot that pervades MCPS central office. Her seat on our school board has needed another occupant for a long time. Sure, let her spout empty platitudes before the U.S. Congress — it’s meaningless in terms of actual policy enforcement in MCPS. Let’s hope voters have the sense to install someone — anyone who isn’t completely nuts — in her place next time we have the opportunity.
