Aren’t you supposed to let diarrhea run its course?

No? At least I’ve never heard that.

Ideally, you should let it run its course (while hydrating and eating a BRAT diet). If it goes on for days or you have a flight to catch then use immodium to tide you over.

BRAT diet (banana, rice, apple sauce, toast)
Pepto Bismol (Take lots of it! Don't fear getting a black tongue.)
Imodium after a few days of diarrhea

Grocery - fresh fruit especially berries and bananas, oats and healthy yogurts, rice cakes + peanut butter

NOT salad or fresh berries if you are still in the country where you got traveler's diarrhea-- this is one of the contaminated foods that cause it in countries where it occurs. (Mangoes could be fine as long as you peel the yourself/by someone you trust.

If you can stomach more than crackers, then bananas are good for energy. Eat BRAC (bread, rice, applesauce crackers) for a little longer than you think you need to. Stay hydrated! TD almost never causes very serious problems in-country EXCEPT for dehydration. You might not feel like drinking, but do (obviously, safe water).

Depending on where you are, you might be able to access some drinks with electrolytes. Or I often take some Boosts with me as the next step after BRAC. But most places where you get TD, those will be hard to find.

lol do you travel abroad? Because this is the exact opposite of what someone should be doing. If you are going to a country where you could get travelers distress or are prone to it, you should avoid raw fruits, raw vegetables, and dairy.

You take Imodium AD. And you don't wait!

+1

If you haven’t already left, pack the remedies suggested above and teabags and sugar- mint tea or whatever you find soothing. Then +1 5to bananas, crackers. Ginger ale if you can get it.

Banana, toast, rice cereal for babies.

Stay away from salads and raw fruit, don't listen to those pps as those items are probably what gave you td in the first place.

The spiciest thing on the menu. In for a penny, in for a pound.

Avoid salads and raw foods when traveling. Brush your teeth with bottled water and boil all water.

I eat foods that are served hot. Soup, steak, fries, pasta, pizza, ….all well-done. Also, items that are packaged- yogurt cups, …. Never salad, never cool appetizers, never fruits that don’t peel (grapes no, oranges yes)…
