Given the US population is 4.8 times larger, that would be equivalent of 1,192 murders at the UK rate. But the actual figures were 1,630 knife murders in the US in 2022. So the good old USA still wins. |

Wrong. If you are an adult US citizen you are a member of the unorganized militia at the federal level and in many states part of the unorganized state militia. Arm yourself, train and be prepared to serve if called upon. |

§ 44-1. Composition of militia. The militia of the Commonwealth of Virginia shall consist of all able-bodied residents of the Commonwealth who are citizens of the United States and all other able-bodied persons resident in the Commonwealth who have declared their intention to become citizens of the United States, who are at least 16 years of age and, except as hereinafter provided, not more than 55 years of age. The militia shall be divided into three classes: the National Guard, which includes the Army National Guard and the Air National Guard; the Virginia Defense Force; and the unorganized militia. Federal level 10 U.S. Code § 246 - Militia: composition and classes (a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard. (b) The classes of the militia are— (1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and (2) the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia. |

Dude are you mental? The UK has 67 million people. Virginia has 8.6 million people. We had 569 homicides in the most recent federal crime report. If the UK had the same homicide rate, they would have 4,432 homicides instead of 247. |
