Sidwell boys' lacrosse team "staffing update"?

He still appears on the website.

The baseball coach was also exited.

He's on the directory, but removed from the Athletic pages. Looks like assistant lacrosse coach has also left.

That makes 3 coaches at the end of the school year leaving all at once?

OMG -- how has noone called the NYT? This is such a ridiculous loss.

And not just for Sidwell, for all the DMV shcools.

the school is so over the top woke, I bet he made an offhanded remark that was politically incorrect and was forced to resign?

Rumor - and just that, rumor - is that video or photos surfaced of a kid who was "punished" by doing bear crawls during practice on a hot day. His hands were cut from ground. The parent(s) apparent went nuts.

I emphasize that this is from a group of kids so I'm certainly not attesting that it's true.

Come on in! Isn’t that what this thread is all about - rumors and gossip?

A Varsity player did bear crawls resulting in a firing? Don't get me wrong, coach misconduct can be very serious and at times dangerous, but unless this was hundreds of yards of crawls, hard to see how this elevates to dismissals.

Nothing makes sense anymore. Parents complain about every little thing. It is hard to find coaches and referees these days.

Is there any plans for a new coach this season?

OMG. I'm a woman soccer player from the 80s who was made to run without water in 90+ degree heat for mistakes and at practice we had to run head first into soccer balls launched at us by male college soccer players that helped coach--if we flinched or ducked we were made to do wind sprints endlessly until girls threw up.

I realize the above was pretty idiotic ^^---but bear crawls for HS males got a guy fired? And it's SPRING--it hasn't even been frickin' hot.

Sounds incredibly wussy to me.

Sounds like rumor and gossip that you are giving credibility.

Not giving credibility. Just incredulous. Doubt it's true. I was pointing out the absurdity of the allegation and/or gossip.

It was a middle schooler.

+1. My Sidwell child said it was a middle schooler who had to be taken to the emergency room to have his hands treated. Apparently, the cuts were pretty serious.
This is also a coach who has been accused of doing similar things to students in the past.
