Not necessarily. Went to a party with half the backyard tented. Caterer set up outside. They never used the kitchen. |
No too many people, too few bathrooms on the main area, unpredictable weather. No. |
Maybe it’s just me but that seems too tight for 50 adults. |
I have 40-50 people parties 3-4 times a year when kids little in my 1,200 sf split where 1st floor was 400sf no problem. Even had a 80 at one party. People liked them |
Personally, I wouldn't. |
Sounds wonderful as long as someone doesn’t blow up your bathroom. Maybe have a sign saying please don’t poo in the bathroom |
We typically have 50 people for our gatherings with about 1000-1500 square feet. We also have a kitchen, breakfast area, family room, living room, and formal dining area that's used. Plus a decent sized deck with a small yard. Can be crowded, but works. |
Agreed. This sounds like hell to me. |
Please don’t. This would be super weird for a party with 50 people. You would probably be fine with only the downstairs bathroom. With the upstairs available for emergencies you’re more than covered. |
Agree. I'd consider tenting part of the yard in case of rain the house will be too tight. Fairy lights, music and some tables and chairs will make the tent appealing. Sounds lovely, OP, have fun! |
Less than a month in advance, what percentage will say no? |
Oh, that is a good point. It has been my experience that whatever event someone is hosting, 2/3 of those who are invited will say they are coming, and 1/3 of the people will actually show up. |
Absolutely this is fine. We have 25 family over around holidays in our 1800sf home and that involves using the kitchen, all sitting to eat. We’ve had much larger parties, in excess of 50, even in colder weather when people don’t go outdoors (we actually always leave beer and drinks in coolers outside, even in cold weather, but people don’t congregate there when it’s cold).
Also, there will only be a small window when all 50 guests are present at the same time - typically some come amd leave early, some come and leave late, most in the middle. |
People are going to blow out the downstairs bathroom. |
You could do it over several hours (open house style) so people come at times that are more spread out. |
