I think they need more specific information to issue an Amber alert. She has been in touch with friends.

Amber Alerts typically are made where there is enough descriptive information about the abductor, and/or suspect's vehicle.

The post I saw today said she has been in contact with her friends since she has been missing. I know nothing about this family and her home life, but it seems like she ran away. I know there are dangerous associated with that, but it seems like the police have more info than they are releasing.
