I pay through an automatic payment through my bank. |
Actual cash? That's absurd. There's no record. |
Our tenant pays by Venmo |
Zelle. |
A cashiers check for first month is pretty common. |
No Fee for the landlord. |
It's been years since I rented, but when we were, I had the same bank (Crestar, I think) as the landlord, so I would go to the bank each month and have the money moved to her account and text her when the transaction was complete. It was very convenient. |
My tenants pay me via Venmo. |
I don’t think you understand how checks work. You get complete records. |
We pay via ACH |
When I rented I usually paid via ACH to my landlord’s bank. |
I am a renter and I have my bank mail a check every month. |
What do you mean there's no record? I give them a receipt from a receipt book. I have a copy; they have a copy. The reason for this is that if someone gives you a deposit and first month's rent with a personal check the day before move in, both could bounce but the tenant would already be in the apartment. Ask me how I know. And sure, a cashier's check would work but they're more time consuming for the tenant, unfamiliar to some, so actual cash doesn't hurt anybody. Not sure what's so absurd unless the apartment is $15,000/mo. |
