Thanks I will look here. I am looking for this Friday-Sunday not summer.

Well it’s going to be cold and rainy so there will probably be openings.

I just can’t. The decor is horrendous. They could easily charge $1000 a night if they’d just update the place.

And there’s no beach left in Bethany: tiny sliver of sand, shoulder to shoulder people during the summer.

I’d opt for OC where the beach is wider/less crowded.

Ftr: I’ve been going to the DE and MD beaches for 50 years. I love all the beaches and we have favorite places we visit each time we go (we go throughout the year, not just summertime).

My kids can’t stand going to Bethany in front of the boardwalk during a summer day…way too crowded.

Beach snobs who completely shun OCMD have no clue what you are missing. The accommodations and beach are so much better. Fenwick is the best imho if you are looking for an uncrowded beach, but they don’t have oceanfront hotels. Their Hilton is ocean block and very modern.

This is OP. I am a beach snob as it relates to beach and accommodations. Nothing nearby is going to compare to Turks or Grand Cayman and I have to get away near water! I am not going to be lounging on the beach this weekend and need to be near the ocean! Smile.

NP. If you’re also a snob about who you’re surrounded by at the beach, avoid Ocean City
I am going to get away; to have quiet, so I won't be hanging out with folks! Smile.

This looks perfect! Thanks for sharing.

Ditto. I am not an OC hater and I will definitely stay at this place.

Unfortunately the reviews here are bad including bait and switch photos. Have you actually stayed here?

Bethany Beach Ocean Suites is the first hotel that popped into my mind so glad to see others recommended it.

Enjoy your nice, quiet and hopefully relaxing weekend!

You need to be on the top floor to actually see the ocean. View is obstructed by the dunes.

Henlopen Hotel. North end of the boardwalk, attached to the Henlopen condominium. Nice, quiet, beachfront.

I haven't stayed there, but I was curious why I haven't heard of it. I don't mind OC. It's great for kids with all of the waterfront outdoor dining with playgrounds. What's wrong with the place?

The reviews actually seem pretty good, but a lot of them are by profiles that only have 1 reveiw and that makes me skeptical.
