asian parents... what do you feed your toddlers?

Rice porridge, those little packs of seaweed, dinosaur nuggets, hot dogs with noodles stuck in them so they look like squid, peanut butter sandwiches, dried mangos, macaroni and cheese - not Kraft instant, but it's surprisingly easy to put together, spaghetti w/ meat sauce, jackfruit.

Oh, yeah! Pork floss. My kids could go through a giant container of that at an alarming speed.

pho, other variety noodle soups
Stir fry noodles
Fried rice

We don't cook just for the kids. They eat what we eat.

Japanese here. I've found ramen to be a good introductory noodle. She's not into udon or soba yet, though neither was I at her age, and insists yakisoba is too spicy. She'll slurp the heck out of Tom Yum soup though, so go figure.

Here are the Asian toddler little kid dishes I made:

Tofu simmered in chicken broth
Cut up pieces of adobo chicken or soy sauce chicken
Salmon with TJs teriyaki sauce
Asian pears cut up

Kids also love veggie spring rolls and fried dumplings.

Lots of sushi starting at age 3

Tempura

Dumplings of all kinds

Congee- a big favorite

Most soups just serve with rice

Galbi with rice- they would eat this every single day if they could

Thanks! How do you do the galbi with rice? Do you cut it up into small pieces and mix it with rice? Or just put a portion of it next to rice? I'm pretty sure my toddler likes the taste of galbi, but he has become very picky with meat in general if he sees it on his plate. He'll cry and tell me he doesnt want it, but if he's not paying attention and I sneak a piece into his mouth he will happily swallow it....

Mostly tiny pieces next to rice - my kids like it separate. And 1 -2 pieces on the bone so they can practice. Sometimes they eat it or ask for it cut other times they get all the marinade off and call it quits. But usually they eat a scoop of rice and then the meat.

what do you put in the sushi and do you make it yourself?

I don't make it myself but it's our go to Friday night order. We started with avocado rolls and progressed from there - they love avo, cucumber, mango rolls. They usually ask for 1-2 pieces of our sushi and we feel fine with the quality and around 3.5/4 we let them have a few pieces raw. They love tobiko and think it's fun to eat. Also cooked tempura rolls altho the rolls get cut up and look like a mess. Sweet Shrimp sashimi is also a hit

Korean here

Rice, ggim (roasted laver), bulgogi marinated ground beef/turkey/chicken

Sauteed salmon in teriyaki sauce, rice, avocado, sweet potato

Miso soup

Japchae

Mandu (Korean dumplings)

Roast mackerel (very fishy, might not appeal to toddlers)

Pajun - Korean wheat pancake with vegetables

Bindaeduk - mung bean pancake

Lots of bibimbap - rice with whatever leftovers we have, cut into small pieces, mix with sesame oil, soy sauce etc.
