Dementia and Calling Multiple People Multiple Times a Day (50+ calls within a few hours)

I have heard this is a common problem with 911/calls to police (my mom did it once, the police were so nice when they came).

There are special phones for dementia that restrict who he can call but I don’t think they’d help with this.

But you have to take away the phone. My MIL with dementia did this and spend hours on her phone, very frustrated by it. We should have taken it away sooner. Having it he is also extremely vulnerable to phone scams—this happened to her too. It’s sad but the situation is not working and he is probably very stressed when he can’t get through. Once you take the phone he will forget soon that it existed.

Also, may be time for memory care soon. My MIL called this frequently one summer but by fall could no longer do that or many other things.
