By Friday? I would move on from that person and offer it up being extremely clear that it needs to be picked up by whichever date is best for you and person needs to have a truck secured before they answer your post.

Seeing people driving on the Beltway holding a giant mattress on top of their little car with bare hands is a DC-area rite of passage. Just don’t drive behind them.

Drove it to her place in my truck and then slept with her.

I put everything out on the curb a few days before trash day and then call for a bulk pickup if anything remains.

This is really common and I’m not sure why. I had someone try to get a dresser in a Honda fit and someone else try to get a tv console in a Tesla. Like it’s not going to fit. Then they say they’ll come back with a bigger car and never do.

I hired junk haulers. Life is too short.

She showed up in a Prius. Did she think they were dollhouse miniatures?

You'd be amazed what I've been able to fit, inside, outside & on top of a Prius. An extra pair of hands and multiple trips and everything you've offered would have eventually made it home.

This happened to me too and we are too nice and ended up arranging the delivery.

Free or cheap stuff means most likely a certain kind of person shows up. I'm surprised some of you are surprised.

People suck! When I give things away, I now.put them on the curb, post on next door, and do not check email. People will respond with questions (asking about dimensions or other info) or asking me to hold something back (strangers). Worst one - someone shamed me for giving away a bike for free, because they knew of a charity that took them. I mean, they could have picked the bike up and donated it.

Maybe she came over to initially look at all the items to see the condition of them & to decide if she wanted to purchase them.

Then she will return w/a buddy and a truck.

But as a seller - I can totally see how you would prefer to make the transaction in one simple visit too. 😀
