Xcaret?

So do most people here stay at another hotel and visit Xcaret? I really want to go, but the hotel price is a lot (even though I think it includes the parks)

i think it's like Disneyworld. You can stay wherever you like and pay the admission price. Or you can stay at an affliated property if you want.

We bought a package deal (plane/hotel/park) to the Occidental a few years back, but you can arrange it whatever way suits you.

I didn't know much about the park before we went, but really loved the night show and the cultural aspects.

The Xcaret show was WAY more impressive than we were expecting, and kept a bunch of kids ranging in age from 4 to 11 very entertained even after a long day of running around the park. Definitely don't miss.

We were staying at a different hotel and arranged transportation to/from, was pretty easy.

There's the actual Hotel Xcaret which is pricey. However there's also the Occidental which is on the property as well which is not as expensive. But as the other poster said you can stay where ever you want just keep in mind that some of the parks are a good distance away.

Xcaret was amazing, but admittedly our least favorite park. We loved xel-ha and the xenotes tour! We stayed at a different resort and did the day trips that included transportation. It was much less expensive this way. Enjoy.

Xcaret Hotel is pretty amazing and much more than just a hotel--really it's a botanical water park too. It's expensive, but the resort grounds are awesome and the food excellent.
