Quick couples trip in MD?

We’ve lived in DC our entire adult lives so don’t want to do a staycation here. We were thinking Frederick or Baltimore. Frederick seems cute and walkable but the reviews for bnbs there seem pretty mixed. I know way less about MD getaways than VA. Does anyone have any recommendations? Open to lots of different ideas.

If you can convince your parents to do two nights, drop them off at bedtime and drive and check in late. It makes such a difference to have a full day off imo.

Not Frederick. My in laws lived there. No where near as cute or nice as it seems. Agree fine for a day trip but restaurants are horrible and hotels/inns worse. 30 min or so from Potomac. Not a getway.

What about Keswick in Charlottesville?

I live in Frederick, so I’m biased. There are some good restaurants, but agree that there aren’t any great hotels. Also, as much as I love Frederick, I wouldn’t recommend it for more than a day trip.

I would recommend Annapolis. Cute historic area, walk Naval Academy, maybe do a sail on the bay?

Another vote for Annapolis given the 1-2 hr preference. Book a boat excursion.
