OMG! A restaurant served a pregnant person! The world is overpopulated, I would be PISSED. |
I am grossed out by vomit to the point of phobia, and it would have been very hard for me to eat lunch at all after that. And nobody would have wanted to eat lunch with me after that. It is better for everyone if I just get in the Uber. |
You don’t seem to be able to read. The people who left are the offended ones, because others could manage to still eat. |
I am really mystified by your coworker numbering system. Why not say coworker 1 and 2 stayed, and 3&4 ubered back. Or 2 stayed and 2 went back. I’m squeamish about vomit, so wouldn’t enter but I wouldn’t be mad at those whose hunger was stronger than their aversion. |
This reminds of the time I had to do the Heimlich maneuver on my kid who chocked on a mint on way out of restaurant. Yes there was puke involved. |
Were the two who left mad because they’d been driven by one of the coworkers who stayed, so when the driver insisted on staying, those two had no lunch and no ride? I can see why they’d be annoyed. The restaurant may normally be clean, but if they’re allowing patrons to track vomit through the restaurant, that is pretty unsanitary. |
Let me guess you just left it there and didn't offer to clean it up. |
Gross. Left. |
This is the mystery we need to solve No one should be upset with anyone - you're adults and can make your choices |
How is that not immediately cleaned up? |
As someone who has grown up in restaurants and has seen nearly EVERYTHING happen in them, I can think of so many reasons why vomit at the entry may not have been cleaned up immediately. The first thing I can think is that is happened not long before the OPs arrival and during a lunch rush perhaps staff may not have had a chance to run out to clean it. Also, if the vomit came from a passerby who never even entered the restaurant, perhaps the staff hadn't even seen the mess. I'm giving the restaurant the benefit of the doubt on this one and would have had no qualms going in myself as long as the rest of the establishment looked relatively clean and maintained. |
Between kids and dogs, I have seen a lot of gross things, but vomit is the one thing I cannot get over. I would leave, having lost my appetite at this point. I wouldn't be mad at anyone that stayed. |
I would have left because I would have found it difficult to eat at that point. But I wouldn’t have been mad at anyone who stayed, more impressed by the strength of your nose and stomach. |
My, my aren’t you quick to make assumptions. |
If a group was set on it, I'd go in because it was outside on pavement and not inside for me to look at or smell. There's lots of nasty stuff on the pavements downtown, I've seen some horrible things and it doesn't prevent me from entering buildings as the inside is always clean. I wish I didn't have to see it but I can't avoid downtown. |
