New patient form question

It’s more work and fuss for the office staff to have to maintain separate forms for age groups. So the form you’re filling out will be the same as for a kid who’s turning 18 tomorrow. There will be questions on their that don’t make sense for your newborn just like some of the questions appropriate to the newborn might seem silly to the almost 18yo. Not uncommon for forms to ask gender identity and pronouns in the DC area, although those questions are usually optional. Pretty sure I didn’t answer similar questions for my newborn a few years ago.

Yeah, at my son’s doctors they ask for his employment status. Uh, he’s two…so unemployed? Or maybe student, since he’s in daycare? It’s dumb. I think they’re just general forms.

I can't imagine coming home with my newborn from the pediatrician, remembering that the intake form had these questions and then posting about it online. There is a newborn that is completely helpless under your care and you're concerned because the pediatrician asked you what their pronouns are?

Did you know medical mistakes are the third leading cause of death? They don't have time or attention for pronouns for babies until they stop killing people with neglect and negligence.

They do have different forms usually. An infant will have different questions to be asked than a teen.

Apparently not in this case.

Maybe they want to accommodate parents who do not want a gender label to be placed on their child?

No, just where they’ll be hounding your children at every appointment about their current gender status.

Stay clear of the crazies, OP.
