LOL, the posters here just so sure they look 10-15 years younger than they actually are. Sure.

People don’t have a good sense of what a certain age looks like. People still think 50=old or grandma because that’s what we saw when we were kids. Even the Golden Girls didn’t look as old in real life as they were made to look on the show. There is a picture of the Spice Girls for one of their 50th birthdays and it occurs to me that that is what celebrity 50 looks like. Not sure we have made the mental adjustment for regular people.

Outdoor activities, never smoked, don’t drink alcohol, try to get to bed by 10 pm, fit but not skinny.
And Asian skin.

My sister is 70 and looks great -- probably better than she did in her 50s when she was raising teens! and stressed about work She leads a very active, healthy life -- she and her husband cook a lot and eat a generally low-carb diet with lots of veggies and healthy proteins, but also drink wine and will indulge when they want. The travel a ton and I think are just generally happy with themselves and their adult kids and grandkids. She's also kept in really good shape and does some light weight lifting. I think having a good attitude and loving your life is most important and staying active enough so that you don't lose mobility. She uses creams, but not botox or anything. She did have very oily skin growing up and really struggled with acne, so perhaps that has helped her in old age. She was on HRT too -- not sure if she's now tapered off, or is just at a very low level. She's my model for aging, but honestly I'm not sure I'm going to be able to do it as well as she does.

I was aging very well until menopause. Now I look like a Nonna. It happens fast.

I'm 58 and I think I'm aging pretty well. I think most people would think I'm in my 50s though, so maybe I'm not exactly who you want to hear from.

The secret, IMO, starts when you're much younger. I have always worn sunscreen, eaten well, kept my weight in a normal BMI range without disordered eating or yo-yo dieting, and gotten regular exercise. I have never smoked and was not much of a drinker. I had a loving, low-stress childhood and have supportive family and friends. I come from fairly long-lived people (3 grandparents did in their mid-80s, one in his mid-90s), and if late fertility is any indication of relative youthfulness, my maternal grandmother and my mother both got pregnant easily in their late 30s/early 40s, and I too conceived my youngest child easily at age 37.

Maybe most important: I did not hit menopause until I was almost 57, which really makes a difference in aging in your 50s (although makes you higher risk for certain kinds of cancer). I expect that I will age more quickly in the next few years, now that I'm in menopause.

Oh yeah, and I use retinoids and BHAs, take vitamin D religiously, continue to use sunscreen on my face every day, and lift weights. But I honestly think it's much more about the stuff in the previous paragraphs.
