That’s clearly not what I’m looking for. My kid is already in public school that does nothing half the day and has a meager 20 minutes of recess. I’m legit looking for a school that promotes physical education and sports for half the school day.

You could look into fusion, where you could easily do all the academics in a half day. You'd have to provide the sports outside of school.

That’s not what I’m looking for either. I want a traditional school setting that is focused on sports half the day and academics half the day. I don’t want my kid to miss out on the traditional aspects of coed school, socializing, etc., but I want him specializing in his sport.

The exact kind school you want doesn’t exist in this area so posters are trying to give you partial possibilities.

The Heights maybe. Also not exactly what you’re looking for, but lots of activity.

No, it’s a serious question.

Not really. There are some schools that are known for athletics (De Matha, SJC, Gonzaga, Prep, Bullis). But sports are after the academic day. At my kid's school, there are three academic blocks and one athletics/activity block each day. Probably the closest thing around here, but it hasn't resulted in powerhouse athletics and is all girls.

OP - usually that's not what these schools do - they tend to be supporting high end athletes....not kids who need a lot of outdoor time.

Have you considered schools like Waldorf, Oneness?

OP seems like a nightmare for any school to deal with. Lots of helpful suggestions and they shut them all down.

Then try to Google and find out for yourself? No one on here can materialize something they don't know about and/or that doesn't exist.

Bishop Sycamore.

I don’t know the area. Most schools don’t blatantly advertise online they are 1/2 day sports. I’m looking for recs from people who have kids possibly at a school like these.

I grew up with kids who became very successful professional athletes and they all attended full day high school.

What you are requesting, half day school, is for kids with something else going on.

Well we are telling they don’t exist and giving you the closest options available. If you don’t like it, move to the area with the school you do want.
