You're either naive ... or spinning for Bowser.

Isn't "Masters" a racist name for a golf tournament?

DC's public golf courses are run by the Feds via National Park Service. Trump administration cut a long term lease deal with the National Links Trust to take control of DC's courses, redesign them, and jack up the prices. It's going to be a long term project: https://www.nationallinkstrust.org/

I feel like their heart is in the right place.

That said, it wouldn't surprise me if Bowser went to the Masters to try to drum up support for the new National Links Trust and try to land a PGA tour stop in DC. It would be kind of awesome to have a PGA tour stop at East Potomac with the monuments in the background.

Wait until you hear about the Old White course at the Greenbrier!

I believe school principals in Boston and other Massachusetts school districts are still called "headmaster." It was always a unique quirk there. "Head teacher" is becoming more common in the U.K.

Probably the reason for the trip. Bring some enlightenment to the rubes.

I still remember when the DDOT director went on a European vacation to “study cycling”. That was hilarious.

The research from that whirlwind trip resulted in the plans for the K Street and Connecticut Ave bikeways.

Cool story but not true. He went in fall 2022, which was well after bike lanes were added by lobbyists to early concept for both.

Then what are the concrete results from the whirlwind trip? Did the DDOT director publish a white paper on bike mobility in cities and emerging trends?

Based on the timing, if one could argue anything, I what he learned led to DDOT removing the bike lanes from the revised K street transitway (original didn’t have bike lanes) and delay design work for CT Ave option C to conduct more study.

A DPP was trying to link racism and golf.

DC has a list of "restricted" states that DC gov employees cannot travel to on the Districts dime (eg, attending conferences) based on state laws regarding discrimination, LGBTQ rights etc.
Not sure if this is still enforced.

Yeah, I think we do know the full story. And yet, DC residents will keep voting for her.

Mayors regularly travel for BD. A several day trip to Georgia is not exactly unreasonable. Get a life!

They can't tell us the full story because the actions of the DC government are highly classified.
