TV dinners

My question too! I don't consider a frozen entree (say, palak paneer and rice) to be a "TV dinner" and don't think I've seen one in the true sense in decades.

I've also done the lasagna rolls from the chef with the spiky bleached blond hair. Gordon Ramsey?? Not bad. Served with a frozen pizza and salad. Kids love it.

It's also more relaxing than getting home and everyone trying to get a cooked meal on the table every single night.

I disrespect you because you are cowering about something that is perfectly fine.

Wow, are you drinking? Pretty strong reaction for something that is no skin off your nose.

I bought some to keep in the freezer for when we come home at dinner time and need something fast, but it actually took much longer and more of my attention to heat 3 kids dinners than making angel hair with jarred spaghetti sauce, which we always have on hand.

I don’t have to drink to spot a toadie.

You are drinking? Check.
You do not understand the definition of “toadie”? Check.
Congrats. You officially make zero sense. Suggestion - maybe look up the definition of words before you use them?

A tv dinner has to have a main — preferably sirloin steak— at least one veg and dessert all heated and served in one tray with compartments.

Thank you! Yes, a frozen entree is NOT a tv dinner.

Oh, please! This is as narrow-minded and snobbish as the West Virginia poster. Of course the frozen dinners, be they Lean Cuisine, Trader Joes, etc., are TV dinners. The fact that you pay more and call it something else does not make you superior. Just accept that you appreciate the convenience and are as human as the generation that once heated their Swanson’s or Hungry Man dinners in foil trays in the oven.

DP. I didn't read this as snobbish at all and am a PP who wondered where TV dinners are. It's nostalgic! I'd love to find a TV dinner but agree the above don't qualify.

Where can we find some, my kids would love them!

I remember these as a kid before the microwave and they took about 1 hour to heat in the oven and then would come out hotter than the sun. The little baked apples was like molten lava and then you couldn't eat any of it for like another 30 minutes until it cooled. After all that time you'd just be over the whole thing and ready for bed.

OMG I remember eating microscopic slivers of the baked apples, like “It may burn me but I’m gonna get this sugar no matter what” 😂

Ummm hardpass. I could order edible Chinese takeout for the price of glob. Or you could go to the hot section at Costco.

My teens would like them for lunch on the weekends at times. Pop a Marie Calendars spaghetti in the microwave and there is nothing to clean up. Done in 5 minutes. They know they are not the best options for regular eating but ok once in a while.

Yes! Just like airplane food!
