OP here. Just updating that the Company Store sheets I ended up purchasing (posted earlier in the thread) are really nice in case anyone is interested in them. |
Thanks for the update! I need new sheets and love that someone else researched for me. Off to shop! |
I have both target and Costco sheets and prefer target. So much easier to put on my deep mattress. |
Honestly, neither. I like Lands End, Macys, or sometimes I can find 100% cotton at Home Goods.
Company Store is way more expensive than Target or Costco. |
Wirecutter tests huge amounts of sheets and recommends neither of these. LL Bean and JC Penney are the places they recommend. |
Here is the link to the Wirecutter article:
https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-sheets/ Why we like them: Everyone should own at least a couple of sets of soft, breathable cotton sheets, and L.L.Bean’s 280-Thread-Count Pima Cotton Percale Sheets and Wrinkle Guard’s 400 Thread Count Sateen Sheets have been our favorites for since 2014 (read more in our guide to the best cotton sheets). They feel nicer than sets twice the price and wear exceptionally well. L.L.Bean’s percale set feels cool and crisp, reminiscent of boutique hotel bedding, making it ideal for warmer temperatures. The Wrinkle Guard sateen set has a silkier, heavier texture that makes it a little warmer; the sheets are nearly wrinkle-free. We think that both sets make a solid base layer for dressing your bed year-round. |
How big is your mattress? 20 inches seems a bit much. FWIW I have had sheets from all three of these stores and the Company Store ones were my least favorite. Not the least bit soft and faded in the wash. I prefer the Target Threshold. |
Actually Wirecutter does recommend the Target sheets. You didn't scroll down far enough. Anyway, do people really still trust Wirecutter? I would go to reddit over a site that makes money off of referral links. |
I LOVE my Costco towels. Do you have the Charisma? They're amazing. |
i am very happy with the target threshold. soft and nice.
A bit less happy with twin/kid version i got: solid, holds up great and pattern hasnt faded, but not as soft (not rough, just more rigid cotton). Probably my fault though: i picked 100% cotton for kids and i forgot what i picked for queen beds.. |
