Is it normal to not remember your teachers?

I am in my very early 30s, and I think I remember most of my ES-HS teacher. Granted not all, and many of them their names, of the top of my head, I may not recall either.

But I do remember ES, bulk of MS and HS.

College and grad school, especially college, many of them I do not remember...funny enough

I remember most of my K-5 teachers, including music, PE, etc.

I remember zero of my middle school teachers (6-8) except my band director who I had all three years.

I remember about a dozen of my high school teachers - mainly the best and the worst. And I probably had 25 teachers in high school.

I most vividly remember the ones who taught me multiple years, like band, French, etc. And I remember teachers from the subjects I enjoyed most, like English, history, and chemistry. I cannot for the life of me remember a single math teacher.

I have no idea who my teachers or professors are at this point. Same with classmates.

I’m 55 and can rattle off all of my K-6 teachers and many MS/HS teachers. If you show me a yearbook, I can remember even more teachers.

I am known for my vivid memory and recall, though and have always been hyper-observant and aware.

I even remember my PreK teacher. Miss Lawley. We used to call her Miss Lollypop. Funny how the I remember the oldest teachers the best. I can only name a handful of college professors, but I remember all my k-12 teachers vividly.

I remember every single one since I was three in daycare. Not much overturn from prk3 to 9th grade.
I know their credentials and I know what they wore to work. Our classrooms were very small and simple. There was nothing to do put to pay attention to teachers. I even remember certain things they said or their mood.
My high school teachers I remember mostly by look and less by name as I attended high school in a city. My elementary/middle school teachers live in my small village and had kids in the same school.
College professors I would recognize walking past them, but would not know the names.

I only remember a few names but I can picture and recall most of my HS teachers and my teachers for 3-5. Middle school ones are a blur though.

I can remember all of my K-6 teachers. I remember many of my 7-12, especially the ones who inspired me to become a teacher (7th grade English, 8th grade Social Studies, 8th grade English, 10th grade AP Euro, 12th grade AP English, 12th grade Gov). I remember having amazing English and History teachers.

I’m 50 and can name every single teacher through 8th, many from high school and a few from college.

I’m 63 and can name all my elementary school teachers. I remember some from later on, but not nearly as well, possibly because there were about 8 each year.

I remember all of my ES teachers, by name and general appearance/personality. I’m sure it helped that it was a great community school in which my mom was really involved.

In contrast, I remember very few MS teachers. It was only two years, and they were awkward years, so maybe I blocked them out. I remember more from HS, but not all. Really just the best and the worst.

I switched schools in 3rd grade in January 40 years ago. My mother was in the bank recently and a woman came up to her introduced herself and asked how I was by name. Amazing memory. I remember her but I only had so many teachers.

For me I remember some teachers. High school math teacher who was so relaxed, funny, just a nice guy. I remember my 4th/5th grade teacher who told me not to blow it, I had the potential to be a top student. (I blew it). I can picture them both.

I’m 52 and I remember all of my ES teachers and most of the others in MS and HS. I’m sometimes surprised when people can’t remember most of theirs. I’m a teacher and I am definitely surprised when current HS students don’t remember who they had in ES.

I'm 55 and can only remember the names of two teachers. Yikes.
