I read it years ago, but enjoyed it:
No Way To Treat a First Lady by Christopher Buckley, son of William Buckley |
Same author that I just posted about: Christopher Buckley |
The Washingtonienne
|
If they like kind of trashy fun thrillers, The Golden Couple!!! |
Thomas Mallon's _Watergate_ is outstanding and very funny. Spot on for DC in the period. |
American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld
|
100% |
Same! You just have to get over things like when they say the yellow line has a stop at Franconia. No idea why they get things wrong like that, but I distinctly recall something like that in the Lost Symbol (but otherwise I loved the book!). |
Great book! My favorite Curtis Sittenfeld book. |
Easy to read, humerous books:
Ladies of the House by Lauren Edmondson Rachel to the Rescue by Elinor Lipman |
+1! Amazing novel that shows DC in a way I haven’t seen in other books. |
Loved this one. |
Short War by Lily Meyer. It just came out, lots of modern DC references. I really enjoyed it. |
The Exorcist! The novel is really good and lots of good Georgetown descriptions. |
I really enjoyed "Thank You for Smoking". Think about it almost every time someone mentions lobbyists. |
