Biden Has Fully Embraced YIMBYs and Will Lose Suburban Voters

Stop it with the idiocy.

Biden is doing a good job. Get over yourselves, be responsible, and vote for him. This is not a difficult decision.

Good thing zoning is a local and not federal issue, then.

They are going to try to force it on local communities by tying federal funding to zoning reforms.

Yes, so what? Don’t take federal funding then.

Let’s see how you feel about using federal funds to manipulate state and local policy when the next Republican president decides pull federal funding for healthcare services to all jurisdictions that it alleges are violating the Comstock Act. I think it is generally unwise for the executive branch office interfere with local policy decisions. It sets a bad precedent and creates policy instability when political control of the WH changes.

I feel like a hostage of the Democratic party
.I'm just going to write in Nikki Haley/mitt Romney and hope for the best

Exactly what I'm going to do.

Ah, there you are! The usual twit who insists people vote your way. Glad you are irrelevant, and we're all entitled to our own vote.

You will end up with Trump, but hey, your single family zoning, of which changes won't impact you or your grandchildren, will be intact, but your grandchildren may not be happy with your choice given where the country will be once Trump is back in office.

Then you are an idiot

One man is busy fixing a bridge, while the other guy is selling a self-branded Bible today.

So please by all means vote for the dumbass.

Trump has never done one thing to benefit anyone else ever. He did nothing in office the first time.

It is BS to even suggest he would be better than Biden. Biden may have his faults like by keeping Wray and Garland but there is no reality were the US would be better off with another Trump presidency.

We live in THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA not Magadonia!

What the hell do you think a dictator will do?

Try again the RNC has over 50 lawsuits in swing states trying to stop the right to vote.

Heritage Foundation, Family Council and other RW organizations have over 700 across this country for the same.

The only ones wanting people to vote one way is the Republican Party RW nutjobs which is UnAmerican to the core.

What the hell do you think a Dictatorship is? You think you are keeping your right to vote idiot!

Calling voters idiots does not help Democrats to win. This is exactly why I think they Dems are going the lose the election. It’s very condescending and out of touch to assume you know what’s best for everyone else and that anyone who thinks differently than you is an idiot.

I HATE this policy proposal. There is plenty of underutilized space in areas that could be built up better still. They do not need to do this.

But I will still vote Biden because Trump is a total slime ball not fit to be president and also abortion. I really cannot conceive of any policy Dems could pursue that would override both those.

As in can’t think of anything that it would be so bad it would make me vote R for president.

We have a limited amount of land, so we should be increasing density where this is infrastructure, rather than eating up our arable land for single family home on acre plots an hour outside our cities. It is crazy and unprecendented in human terms to be so wasteful.

I am voting for Biden no matter what, but there is a lot of space in this country.

Move away from DC and there's a whole world of lower cost housing.

These reforms may be popular among policy wonks, but it remains to be seen whether this will be helpful (or harmful) for Biden's election prospects among suburban voters in key swing states. There has been broad pushback against these initiatives in many states that do not neatly align with traditional partisan politics. Is this a good idea or bad idea for the Biden Admin to discuss addressing this issue so close to the 2024 election?

The zoning reform discussion starts on page 163 for people that want to read it.

pdf p 171 of 487- I'm surprised that report writers who likely live in the DMV give all sorts of examples not relevant to high cola areas. Shout outs given to Minneapolis and Charlotte but they can't find ARL VA where some writers might live and it's missing middle??? What does all this mean on a local level? I do know people are deeply concerned about parking requirements etc on ARL streets that are crammed now.

So you think eventually having people commute 2+ hours and not having arable land close to suburbs and cities is a good thing?

I think I don't need to have a bureaucrat insert themselves in every aspect of my life and constantly telling me how to live. Just leave us alone.
