I hate dog owners

Rule of thumb: if it has a grainy texture (seeds in it), then it's wild animal poo, usually fox or raccoon. Dog poo is smooth.

I'm so tired of dog owners who don't pick up after their dog, leave bags on the side of paths, let their dog run off leash in public parks, use retractable leashes, let their dogs bark and bark, and aren't considerate in pulling their dog to the side when approaching others.

I don't understand how people can be so inconsiderate. Why are so many dog owners so awful?!

This is actually not a bad troll post overall - you hit multiple trigger points and do it concisely. This thread will probably get some traction and you'll be able to give it more life if you come back with more feeding occasionally.

But, lets see how it all unfolds and how many decided to take the bait!

Should be fun, Good work!

It could be a troll because people do indeed love to complain about this stuff. But sadly I've encountered these behaviors regularly enough that I tend thing that it's more likely that OP did in fact come home to a pile of dog $hit in their yard and felt the need to rant about inconsiderate dog owners, because that sort of thing does in fact happen with enough frequency to make it very plausible it happened to OP.

I think it's really only about 30-40% of dog owners who are like this, though I also think that number is rising because so many people adopted dogs for the first time during the pandemic and IME the newer dog owners are much more likely to be really rude and inconsiderate. Maybe just everyone is ruder than they used to be, or maybe people who previously wouldn't have been able to get a dog due to work were able to do so during WFH, and inevitably a higher percentage of that group are crap dog owners. Hard to say, but I'm not the only one who has noticed this.

This is a really exceptional "fine touch" you've played here -- it makes you seem reasonable yet really you are still going "all in" on the "broad brush" painting of dog owners. You then offer some additional details and supporting information along with it - well played.

Take note Trolls! This is a good example of some well thought out followup care and feeding of a troll thread!

Let us continue to watch how this plays out and who is triggered enough to get caught and respond.

Why on earth would I or anyone troll about this? You think dog owners don't let their dogs shit on people's yards, or do any of the above things?

Sounds like you're complicit in many of these rude behaviors, and think nothing of it - and think others don't care. I assure you, many of us are so goddamn tired of the increasing numbers of ahole dog owners. Just because we don't tell you to your face, doesn't mean we're tired of it.

Are you sure it was dog shit? I often get poop from deer, raccoons, bunny rabbits etc on my front lawn. Not much you can do about that.

What a stupid conclusion to draw concerning tens of millions of awesome people. Good luck, dude!

I find it funny when people put “no poop” or “no pee” signs in their yard. Do they think the foxes and raccoons are gonna read those signs?

Also, the dog poop bags at the side of the path. I leave it there because I don’t want to carry it around for 2 miles, but always pick it up on my way out. I believe others do this as well.

I hate lazy cat owners who refuse to play with their pets and instead let their cats roam free around our neighborhood.

These free-roaming cats....

- Poop on my lawn. And cat poop, unlike dog pooh, contains toxoplasmosis, which can cause miscarriages, birth defects, eye disease, and can even affect the lungs and brains of immuno-compromised people. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/toxoplasmosis/symptoms-causes/syc-20356249#:~:text=Toxoplasmosis%20(tok%2Dso%2Dplaz,parasite%20do%20not%20have%20symptoms.

- Decimate local wildlife just for fun, even though they're well fed at home. Cats have driven over 60 birds, reptiles and small mammals to extinction. https://www.salon.com/2023/11/26/cats-have-driven-many-species-to-extinction-experts-share-tactics-for-reducing-feline-destruction/#:~:text=%22Sadly%2C%20whether%20on%20islands%20or,caused%20bird%20mortality%20in%20the

- Die much earlier than house cats when they're hit by cars.

All because their lazy owners can't buy a few toys and play with their cats indoors.

Also, troll rating 1/5 for OP.

Same here. You can see the deer and bunnies any night around my neighborhood, and they poop too.

Dog owners should check themselves and be more kind and considerate ... like the cyclists.

Cat owners who let their cats outside should check themselves. I don't want your cat's poop in my flower beds.

Agreed. Was coming on to say something similar. There are many responsible dog owners out there. It only takes a few inconsiderate people to ruin it for everyone.

No, not everyone is considerate like you. There was one pile of poop 💩 left on my yard. Then the next day a second one was left. Then even a third pile was left! So gross. I wish they would put it in a bag.

Another poster here asking if you’re sure it wasn’t deer or rabbits, which poop all over my yard

Hmm. I think someone doesn't like OP. And given the poor math skills and overgeneralization, probably with good reason!
