They're about to majorly fined or banned in certain European countries, for stifling more traditional commerce.

Rock bottom prices mean indentured servant wages, people. It means trashing the environment with millions of new clothing and new plastics.

Traditional businesses do not operate on that scale with such low wages, even if they make their stuff in China too.

Don't be that consumer.

If they’re offering something I want at a lower price than competitors ,I’m buying.

Adapt or die!

You are choosing death.

Hunting for the cheapest item is an evolutionary dead-end, PP. You are treating the Earth like a fire sale. If you stop living a "me me me" lifestyle for a second, ask yourself: what's left after you produce millions of tons of ultra-fast fashion and plastic products that pollute water, air, sea and land? That increase the temperature those few fateful degrees? Where are your descendants going to live, when forced migration triggers wars and famine stalks many continents where agriculture has withered in the face of climate change?

This is not hyperbole. Scientists have warned about the agricultural effects of climate change since the middle of the last century. Sociologists have warned of the subsequent mass migration and conflicts for decades.

You think Israel and Palestine are fighting over religion? No. Their fight is over arable land, namely control of water sources below the Golan heights. Nothing is about religion. All conflicts have always been about access to sea/river ports, more land to feed populations, more clean water to fend off drought and famine, etc. It's only going to get worse, in most regions of the world where climate change will generate more extreme weather events and longer periods of drought. We are staring down a food crisis, where millions of people will be force to survive for generations in food insecurity, dependent on wealthy nations for aid. Think of Ukraine, the bread basket of Europe, and major source of grain for African nations. The Russian-Ukraine war has had serious repercussion on food aid to poor countries all over the world.

Your fast-fashion habit is making conflict and famine come ever closer.

lol it’s not that deep dude. People just want a cheap pair of slippers, not debate world politics. JFC.

I assume you must think of every implication of every consumer purchase you ever make. right,

I just saw something on Amazon for $24 and it's the same produce on Temu for $11. Where should I order from? I do appreciate that Temu had a warning about the proposition 65-cancer on this product while Amazon did not show anything about this warning.

For those who don't think Amazon have your private data. They do, especially Amazon and Google!

I've been using Temu for about 6 months and have probably placed 7 orders. You can't be in a hurry to get the stuff.

I've mostly purchased things like planters, seasonal decorations, non-food storage containers, moss poles, claw clips, stocking stuffers, etc. Many of the Amazon sellers of these items are Chinese and I see little ethical difference between Temu and Amazon.

The Chinese already have my info from at leave 4 breaches of federal employee data.

I would try Temu if I didn’t have to download the APP. I don’t like being forced into having an APP on my phone.

NP. It’s pretty easy to make a conscience decision not to order from a sketch outfit like Temu. People don’t care. They want to fill their homes with cheap plastic garbage that never degrades. By all means please add more cancer causing, heart injuring microplastics to the environment in the name of cheap seasonal decorations.

19:15 here. They 'incentivize' you to download the app but I order everything online.

No but it's not like I can do anything about it other than keep an eye on my credit reports.

I have. I've always received everything ordered and usually much faster than the predicted delivery window.

I simply don't care about China having my info. I care about prices.
