FYI:

Dems aren't known for their business friendly policies, in case you were thinking of voting for a Dem.

Well that's the thing. The only advantage Republicans have for me is the perception they are better for the economy. But Hogan doesn't have a good track record here.

but a Dem won't, either.

Also too much lining of his own pockets at public expense while in office.

Mitch McConnell recruited him.

Not because I don't like him, o0r think he would do a bad job, but because if he wins, it gives increased power to Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Ron Johnson, Josh Hawley, and the rest of the far right brigade of the Senate. My vote will not be used to support a potential GOP Senate Majority, and that is far, far more important than my personal feelings about an individual candidate.

But Hogan actually spoke up against Trump. We need to break up the MAGA stranglehold on the Republicans.

He’ll have absolutely no influence over the MAGA caucus

Mitch McConnell recruited Hogan to run. How is Mitch McConnell doing on breaking up the MAGA stranglehold?

Seems like we'll have a reasonable senator!

If Trone gets the nomination, I’ll vote for Trone. If AlsoBowser is the nominee, I’ll vote for Hogan.

I agree with you but the Dems support abortion rights, LGBTQ+ rights, paid parental leave, racial equity, and healthcare access to name a few. No reason to vote for Hogan honestly.

Yes, I'm sure Hogan would win among the All Black Women Are The Same Black Woman voting demographic.

that's interesting.

Did anyone bring this to the state assembly, which is controlled by Dems? I don't recall hearing anything about the state looking into it.

I'm tired of progressive politics in MD. It's not helped our schools or businesses. If there was a moderate Dem, I'd be willing to vote for one, but that doesn't seem to be happening in in MD.

Mitch McConnell recruited him.

Probably because MM wants anti-Trumpsters in the Senate.

No, I voted for him once but not again.

He's ok and not a traitor like most of the rest of the GOP, but I won't vote for anyone even republican adjacent any more.
Anonymous
Dammit now I’m going to have to vote for Trone. Was planning on happily sitting this one out.

Sort or, and ineffectively. But more impotantly, that does not address, at all, the concerns raised above - that voting for Hogan helps the GOP get a Senate majority. You like Justices Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett? You excited about a nationwide abortion ban? Think the country needs more corporate tax cuts, combined with further erosion of the social safety net? Hogan is your guy.

No, Mitch McConnell wants Republicans in the Senate. And the Republican Party is the Trump Party.
