Avalon in Silver Spring

No idea if he left on his own or if he was counseled our, but he’s had a lot of trouble keeping his hands to himself and being too rough with other kids at recess and in the hallways. I’m also shocked at his executive function deficits and vocabulary given he came from a Catholic school. He often yells obscenities in the halls. But his Dad tries to manipulate the system and play like the teachers are to blame.

What grade?

He was most likely counseled out. Or expelled. That happens, too.

Definitely in its infancy. It’s not flashy in anyway but very attractive esp if you value liberal arts. It’s also Catholic but not opus affiliated. It will be just as good as the heights as it evolves and grows, you wait and see.

Which Catholics are Opus affiliated?

My son goes there and we absolutely love it. Small class, great culture, as other people noted – they understand boys. It’s almost like a mini family. I do expect us to go to another high school because we are aiming for a good level college placement.

Do you feel like they aren’t good for college prep or placement?
