You could look into Green Acres. This was one of the many reasons we picked this school for DC. |

+1 for Montessori - in Silver Spring, Evergreen School and Barrie are good options |

The River School in NW DC.

At the River School, the lower grades do not really have any technology use. However, Chromebooks are introduced in 4th grade and some assignments are done on them. The kids are required to learn to type in 4th grade, I believe. |
River School does take a very research based approach. In 4th they learn how to type. Parents are also asked (not required) to withhold giving phones to children until eighth. |
I would think all these expensive privates would be taking a similar research based approach. But in reality that's not true. |

Two years ago, kids at NPS had to access assignments and do some work online. I hated it. It felt like virtual school. I was like why aren’t you sending worksheets home. I don’t want my kid on an iPad at night. Don’t know if they still do it because we left. |
Washington Waldorf - we decided that waldorf wasn't for us when we looked for Pre-K, but I did like their stance on tech! |
