Just stop.

Such a hateful statement.
Thankfully, the shooter is dead. Pray for the children and the families.

OP here. I am a mother of two elementary school students and I am fed up with "thoughts and prayers" and no action every time I see another school shooting.

So unless you have something more productive to offer than "pray" (FYI, I'm an atheist, so no, I won't), you stop please. Stop and offer potential solutions that aren't prayers and more doors.

That is evident from your first sentence.

I am not an atheist and I don't want thoughts and prayers as an answer to school shootings. God gave us the ability to ban ridiculous weaponry and use other gun control measures so let's use that god given solution.

Children die for the 2nd Amendment. The GOP has decided to sacrifice our young for men to pretend to be the punisher.

+ a million. We have these wonderful complex brains that can solve all sorts of problems yet we do not use them to curb school shootings. Let's not act like certain people don't tend to think these kinds of things only happen in public schools because "we kicked God out of the classroom". That messaging is seen every single time one of these incidents occur.

I am at the point where I am just angry when I see these happening over. and over. and over. and over. Politicians on both sides think this kind of thing won't happen in their kids' schools because they send them to private. Maybe this will wake some people up.

Warzone's and areas with high rates of violent armed crime don't have this problem, so what is unique about the USA when it comes to mass shootings?

Direct this at your republican elected officials who will not support any gun control legislation.

We have their thoughts and prayers. Doesn't that stop bullets or do they just call fake news when children actually die?

So what measure(s) would you propose that would have stopped today's shooting? Remember, we don't yet know the details but you're on here speaking with authority. So please enlighten us. What kind of weapon was used? By whom? Was it legally purchased?

That's like saying "Blood-red DC has indicated through its voting history that carjackings and murders are a price they are willing to pay for continuing to vote unprepared Democrats into office." See how stupid that is?

You probably don't know this, or perhaps you just don't care. But Davidson County went 2 to 1 for Biden over Trump two years ago.

Most mass shootings that are not gang-related involve legal purchases.

Unlikely but your post certainly highlights where Tennessee conservatives’ priorities lie.

Don't know but uvalde was an absolute slaughter of innocents with weapons that the cops were afraid to take on.

Per the perusal of Foxnews comments every time something like this happens, it's:

-That we don't have enough armed guards at schools ("lots of retired veterans would be happy to guard schools!") ignoring that we have mass shootings with armed guards anyways, and at other locations besides schools including concerts, malls, movie theaters, workplaces, churches, and on and on
-That we don't arm teachers (most teachers don't want to be armed, I know many of them and they have enough to worry about let alone carrying a loaded gun that kids could easily get ahold of)
-That it's our lack of family values as a country/society in the USA that is to blame (specifically democratic erosion of traditional family values)... basically a "shrug, can't do nothing about that till we have better morals!" response that is useless
-We have enough gun laws, more won't do anything

blah blah blah. Conservatives have absolutely nothing helpful to say and it keeps happening and rinse and repeat.
